Select-a-Box was formed over 30 years ago and has since established itself as a provider of quality corrugated products and reliable services. Whilst many other suppliers in the industry have either gone through spells of amalgamation, liquidation or downsizing, we have doubled our production capacity. Our well trained labour force and well situated factory are key drivers in ensuring that we can provide you with an excellent product and service.
Select-a-Box is unique in having four corrugated board manufacturing units on site and is therefore not dependant on external suppliers for its corrugated board. Our factory is also equipped with both 3 and 4 colour corrugated printing and die cutting machines to do the necessary converting and printing of all standard and customer specific containers as well as die cut cartons. We also manufacture rolls of singleface corrugated board (SFK).
Further Investments
Our most Recent Capital Investments in plant and equipment have supported a further move for Select-a-Box to be even more self reliant and truly independent, by having our very own papermill.
With the latest advances in our on-site technology, we are now able to offer our customers additional services i.e. stereo printing plates, die manufacturing, auto ink manufacture and pre-programmed sample making, giving our customer the re-assurance that the finished product they order, will be the one we supply.
We have invested significant resources in modern technology, operational plant, employees and infrastructure, allowing us to produce a lighter, stronger and more innovative packaging, which is not only better for handling purposes and efficiencies for the customer, but also allows us to contain cost increases, ensuring we remain competitive.
A Corrugated Carton needs to have its own vertical strength when stacked, allowing for export boxes to withstand up to 1500 kilograms on the bottom layer of a pallet load. The corrugated export carton also needs to be able to withstand up to six weeks under refrigeration for the fruit export market.
We also take into account the different types of fruit to be packaged. Some types of fruit give off moisture which affects the properties of the packaging. Whether we are supplying the farmer, the industrialist or the retailer/wholesaler, we have the expertise and the capacity to supply our customer with the right product at the right price and the right time.
